CHANGING THE WORLD
ONE CHILD AT
A TIME
In 2006 there are an estimated 100 to 150 million children living homeless in the streets worldwide, and this figure is expected to quadruple by the year 2020.
The Yes We Can Foundation's Childrens Outreach Program, has a mission to offer support to chronically homeless and at risk children as we work to turn their lives around. Growing on the margins of society, abandoned and afraid these children desperately need our care, guidance and protection.
The core belief of this program is that these young people will one day leave our care, with a high school education or equivalent, living skills, and a full or part time job in hand. Leaving with the confidence that our administrators are there as an extended family, hoping for their best, and always available if they need direction or guidance.

The Program administrators actively seek out and engage homeless children in discussions about their circumstances, in order to provide guidance, professional advice, and positive alternatives based on their individual needs. YWCF maintains a non-denominational and non-discriminatory approach to providing assistance to all homeless youth in our target regions. Basic amenities like toilets and bathing facilities, are many times beyond their reach. Hunger and Malnutrition is widespread among them. Due to the lack of guardianship over their lives, homeless children indulge in various addictions like smoking, sniffing glue and other illegal drugs, leaving them the victims of a sub-culture of the streets. A few of our sponsored children, due to the economic fragility of the family backgrounds, have limited family ties that may be tenuous and are only maintained casually or occasionally.

Street children are an urban crisis not only in the third world, but in developing nations worldwide. Most major urban cities have witnessed an alarming increase in the numbers of street children over the past decade. Some studies hypothesize, as cities expand, urbanization, rural-urban migration, and the disintegration of the family structure, have been the catalysts for many social problems including marginalized youth. The reality is that Homeless children are the most vulnerable group affected, simply due to the dangers, and hardships they face on the streets. Often alienated from society they seek refuge where ever they can find food or safety. With the help of charitable donations we can continue expanding our programs globally and change the lives of homeless children everywhere.
